Paira is a cantilever dish made from steel sheets and rods. The top section is created by welding three separate 1mm thick steel sheets, with each being bent slightly to create a dip. The frame is bent using a swiss bender in a triangular shape to leave sharp finishes. We aimed for a ‘less is more’ approach - letting the cantilever structure speak for itself.

The name Paira means ‘float’ in Portuguese. Made in collaboration with David Carvalho.
