gingko
‘Gingko’ is a dual lamp system which takes inspiration from the art nouveau movement, as well as the iconic lamps of Isamu Noguchi.
The structure is made from dowels of pine wood which is then dressed in a body of organic textured translucent paper. I combined the classic minimalistic designs of Noguchi through the cube shapes, which is then contrasted by detailed embroidery stitching and line-work on the paper which takes from Art Nouveau motifs. ‘Gingko’ is named this after the yellow gingko leaves which are embroidered on the facade.
